2025 AFCONQ: Ref Wrong To Disallow Lookman’s Goal Against Libya –Oparanozie

Desire Oparanozie, a former striker with the Super Falcons, has questioned the centre referee’s decision to disallow Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman’s goal against Libya in yesterday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

Recall that the Atalanta star netted the opening goal in the 83rd minute when he exchanged a one-two pass with AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze. But the center referee, Godfrey Philip Nkhakananga, disallowed the goal for offside.

A replay of the action shows that Lookman was actually onside even before the ball was played to him.

Reacting to the development, Oparanozie, via her X handle, criticized the referee’s decision to disallow the goal.

“No VAR in Uyo? There’s no dent on Lookman’s goal,” Oparanozie wrote on X.

“Poor officiating,” she added
