2026 WCQ: Osimhen and Key Players Arrive for Super Eagles’ Crucial Rwanda Clash

Super striker Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Daniel Mustapha, and Kayode Bankole have arrived in the Super Eagles’ camp ahead of the pivotal 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda. The players were seen at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, with Coach Eric Chelle and team officials welcoming them for the crucial fixture on Friday.

The Super Eagles shared a video post on their social media, captioned: “Early arrival of Super Eagles officials and four players – Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Daniel Mustapha, and Kayode Bankole.” Osimhen, who is in excellent form this season, is expected to lead Nigeria’s attack in the Rwandan showdown.

Nigeria currently sits fourth in Group C with just three points from four games. Chelle, who will be managing his first game as Super Eagles head coach, has called up 23 players for the match against Rwanda, followed by another Group C qualifier against Zimbabwe in Nigeria next Tuesday.

With Nigeria yet to win a match and four points behind group leaders Rwanda, the Super Eagles face the daunting challenge of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, after missing out on the 2022 edition in Qatar. The team is under pressure to make an impact in the qualifiers and secure a spot for next year’s tournament in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
