2face’s Mother Pleads for Edo Lawmaker to Leave Her Son Amid Divorce Drama

Rose Idibia, the mother of Nigerian music legend Innocent “2face” Idibia, has made a public appeal for help in convincing Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru to leave her son alone. The emotional plea came in a video that went viral on Thursday evening, where Mrs. Idibia expressed concern for 2face’s well-being amidst his ongoing divorce proceedings with his wife, Annie Idibia.
In the video, Rose Idibia explained that her son, currently undergoing a divorce, is “not in his right senses” and is being influenced by external factors. “My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him,” she said. She specifically addressed Osawaru, urging her to “remove the beads” that she had placed on 2face and “free him.”
The video follows recent public developments in 2face’s personal life. On Thursday, a video surfaced showing the singer proposing to Osawaru, sparking widespread attention. The footage, filmed in the presence of friends, showed 2face presenting Osawaru with a ring, leading to a passionate embrace between the two. This came just a day after 2face confirmed his romantic relationship with Osawaru, further fueling speculations following his separation from his wife, Annie.
The announcement sent shockwaves through social media, with many questioning the involvement of Osawaru in the ongoing marital issues between 2face and Annie. In response to the rumors, 2face addressed the situation publicly, taking to Instagram to defend Osawaru. “She has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage. Yes, I love her. She is amazing, and she is cool. I want to marry her,” he stated.
Osawaru, a politician and member of the Edo State House of Assembly, represents the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party. She was elected in April 2023 and hails from the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.
