APC begins reconciliatory moves ahead of FCT area council/general elections

Ahead of the area council and general elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has kicked off a campaign to reconcile aggrieved members.

The chairman of the Unity and Reconciliation Committee for the FCT Chapter of APC, Usman Jibril Wowo, announced the initiative during a visit to the FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud.

Wowo emphasised the importance of understanding the genuine feelings of party members.

“Our party has a duty to bring its people together and mobilize support for our victory and the prosperity of the FCT. This ideology of development is evident across the Territory.”

He further revealed plans for an upcoming tour of the area councils.

“We are soon going to embark on area council visitation next week. This will allow us to assess the situations firsthand and engage with stakeholders and party members at all levels”.

On her part, the minister expressed satisfaction with the committee’s readiness and strategic framework, noting that the initiative was timely for strengthening the party.

She also commended the committee’s composition, which she described as a blend of seasoned politicians capable of engaging with supporters and re-energizing the party.

The move is described as a proactive steps to unify the party’s ranks before the elections.
