President-elect, Bola Tinubu has said his goal is to, amongst other things, “kill corruption”, while he urged Nigerians to support the All Progressives Congress’s change agenda.
Tinubu made the vow when he went on a familiarisation tour of the Presidential Villa, with Abuja with President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Tinubu, “That is a covenant that you have to really pursue. Other than that, why are you in politics? My own is not identity politics. It’s not hunger or poverty politics.
“I have followed a man who has integrity, character and courage to say ‘Nigerians we need to change and change we have to. Change our mindset, kill corruption in our society,” he added.
He also spoke on his ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda to revamp the economy, tackle security and poverty reduction, and what generally Nigerians should expect of him.
Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, has said the early stages of the administration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, might not be rosy, following the myriads of problems bedeviling the country.
Shettima spoke at the Jumat prayer and lecture held in Abuja as part of the activities lined up for the May 29 handover ceremony.
He said the issue of subsidy removal and the multiple exchange rate system, among others, had become serious challenges that the administration must surmount.
Shettima he was aware they were short of time, noting that a delay might compound the deteriorating situation in the country.
