The governor of Ebonyi state, Francis Nwifuru, has appointed Professor Grace Umezurike as the Secretary to the State Government(SSG)
Nwifuru announced this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, at the weekend.
According to Uzor, the SSG will be sworn in at the State Executive Council Chamber Government House, Ochudu Centenary City Abakaliki, on Tuesday.
“The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has approved the appointment of Prof. Grace Umezurike as Secretary to Ebonyi State Government.
“The appointment takes immediate effect.
” She will be sworn – in on Tuesday, 13th June 2023,” the statement reads.
Umezuruike is the first female to be appointed SSG in the history of the State.
Until her appointment, she was a professor of socio-political philosophy at the university which is in Abakaliki, the state capital.
She is the wife of the former Commissioner for Health in the David Umahi administration.
