The RSF’s new proposals come as army chief al-Burhan is planning an initiative of his own.
For the first time since the battle started, he appeared outside the army’s main command center on Thursday in Khartoum.
He made an appearance on Sunday in Port Sudan, a region of the nation that has avoided the worst of the violence.
He is also scheduled to visit the army-allied neighbor Egypt soon, followed by Saudi Arabia, which has been working with the US to broker ceasefires for months.
Many ceasefires have been repeatedly violated, often immediately after coming into effect, with the two sides blaming each other for undermining the ceasefires.
Riyadh and Washington have for now stopped their mediation efforts as the two sides continue to grapple for military dominance before seriously committing to a long-term peace plan.
