Power supply has been restored after the national electricity grid collapsed on Thursday.
The grid collapse resulted in a massive loss of supply to power distributors nationwide.
But hours after this, the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Electric), said power supply has been restored from the grid.
Dear Valued Customer, the company wrote on its X account formerly known as Twitter, “kindly be informed that power supply has been restored from the grid. Thank you for your patience.”
Kindly be informed that power supply has been restored from the grid.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) had earlier confirmed the collapse of the national grid but assured that efforts are in top gear to fix the problem.
Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, TCN, said that the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, hereby notes that grid restoration nationwide is in progress and has reached advanced stages with power supply now available in the West, North Central, South, ensuring its stability.
While explaining the reason for the collapse, the TCN said it “occurred after a fire incident on Kanji/Jebba 330kV line 2” but added that the matter “is being investigated, with the view to forestalling future occurrence and invariably further strengthening the grid.
“The incident notwithstanding, TCN is determined to continue to do its best to ensure grid stability,” the TCN assured.
