The Lagos State Police Command has acknowledged receiving the official petition filed by Tiwa Savage against Davido.
Following months of alleged abuse and threats to her life, Tiwa Savage filed a case against Davido.
The “Eminado” crooner responded to a tweet of herself and Davido’s baby mama, Sophia Momodu, in the widely circulated petition by accusing Davido of using offensive language.
The singer told Davido that she was disappointed in him, reminding the Afrobeat sensation of standing by him and his family in trying times, especially after he lost his son Ifeanyi.
She maintained, however, that she had gotten calls from people inquiring about her association with Sophia and any actions that would have displeased Davido.
In response to an inquiry, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed on Tuesday that an investigation has been initiated into the allegations.
“I can confirm to you that we have received the petition, and an investigation has commenced.” He wrote.
