Nottingham Forest’s key player Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to return to action when the team hosts Arsenal at City Ground on Tuesday evening in a critical Premier League match.
Awniyi started the season on fire, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his first nine games, helping Forest avoid the drop zone.
However, while he struggled with discomfort, he continued to have doubts about his fitness. Unfortunately, the problem worsened in November, necessitating surgery.
This injury not only kept him out of the Africa Cup of Nations, but also prevented him from playing in Nottingham Forest’s remaining twelve games.
According to the Nottingham Post, Coach Espirito Santo has revealed that Awoniyi has returned to training in preparation for Nottingham Forest’s impending encounter against Arsenal at the City Ground on Tuesday.
Fans of the Tricky Trees will be hoping Awoniyi’s return can turn the tide after winning just 2 of their last 10 league games.
