All Africa Games: Flying Eagles bounce back, pip South Sudan 1-0

Flying Eagles of Nigeria bounced back to winning ways on Monday as a solitary goal was enough to pick up all three points against a resolute South Sudan side.

Recall the Flying Eagles had begun their campaign with a disappointing 2-1 loss against Uganda which left their hopes of a second-round qualification hanging in the balance.

However, the Ladan Bosso side took their fate in their hands on Monday when they filed out against South Sudan as they ensured that they got back to winning ways to get their campaign on track.

Sadiq Isiyiaka, who scored Nigeria’s only goal against Uganda, converted from the spot to give the Flying Eagles a 1-0 win.

The team will now shift their attention to their final game against Senegal to slug it out for a qualification ticket to the next round.
