Team Nigeria’s Comfort James made it to the final of the women’s 800 meters at the African Games 2023.
James finished fourth in heat three, qualifying for her first international final.
In the men’s category, Hamid Sambo finished sixth with a timing of 1:51.28.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s mixed 4x400m team broke the initial games record to advance to the final on Tuesday.
The quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Patience Okon-George, Samson Nathaniel, and Omolara Ogunmankinju passed the baton to record a season-best 3:15.23.
