Following Finidi George was named head coach of the Super Eagles, Enyimba extended their best wishes to him.
Recall that on Monday, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) appointed the former Ajax star to take over from Jose Peseiro.
However, Enyimba expressed their joy regarding Finidi’s new role on their social media platform.
The club’s message said simply, “Congratulations to Finidi on his latest achievement.”
Finidi, a prominent figure from Nigeria’s renowned ‘Golden Generation,’ notably clinched the Africa Cup of Nations title in 1994 and represented Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup finals in the same year, where the team emerged as the second most entertaining side in their debut appearance.
