During the Second Edition of The Chronicle Roundtable in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima reiterated the determination of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to combat corruption without any form of bias.
Shettima emphasized the government’s efforts to address unemployment while underscoring its commitment to eradicating corruption, stating that ongoing high-profile cases signal a new era of accountability.
The event, which aimed to assess Tinubu’s economic and social agenda for Nigeria’s transformation, saw the participation of key figures such as Minister of Information Mohammed Idris, Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, and former Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning Shamsudeen Usman.
Shettima highlighted the administration’s revenue drive, noting significant strides in digitizing revenue collection across government agencies.
Corruption has long plagued Nigeria, prompting successive governments to promise decisive action against it. Since assuming office, the Tinubu administration has prioritized anti-corruption efforts, leading to investigations into various agencies and parastatals.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reiterated its commitment to rooting out corruption, reflecting the administration’s steadfast resolve in tackling this pervasive issue.
