FUOYE Student Sets 200-hour Drumming Marathon Record
Olaniyi Israel Adewale, a student at Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), sets a new world record for himself by finishing a 200-hour drumming marathon.
Adewale initiated a 150-hour drumming session on April 29 using an African talking drum, aiming to achieve the Guinness World Record title for the longest drumming marathon.
The 300-level computer science student whose attempt was accepted by Guinness World Records (GWR) decided to prolong the drumming marathon by 50 hours after it had reached the 150-hour mark.
Upon reaching the 200-hour milestone, he expressed his sincere gratitude to his followers and fans on his Instagram page.
In his words;

“I am honestly not taking this love for granted, ofcourse beating African talking drum for 200 hours is the most challenging thing I experience as a percussionist, because this was the first time I am doing this.
