Plumptre missed Nigeria’s crucial Paris Olympics qualifier against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in March due to an injury that required surgery.

The defender has appeared in a number of videos, demonstrating her rapid recovery from injury.

She had not returned to the UK since moving to Saudi Arabia, but she paid a surprise visit to her family.

Ashleigh Plumptre has paid an unexpected visit to her family in the UK following her rehabilitation from an injury.

The 26-year-old was separated from her family in England when she moved to the Saudi Arabia women’s league.

She shared a video on her Instagram page showing her hugging them for the first time since she left for Saudi Arabia.

She added a caption to her post, “A true blessing being able to make a short trip back home to surprise the family.”

Her family were so happy to see her after being away for a long time, although she came back putting on a protective boot on her right leg.

Plumptre will be expecting to recover quickly from her injury to help the Super Falcons compete in the summer Olympics.
