Refuting CSP Jejeloye Deployment Controversy: The Guild’s Misleading Narrative

In a recent statement issued by the Director of the Lagos State Taskforce, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the organization has addressed what they perceive as a misrepresentation in an online publication by The Guild on June 26. The statement emphasizes that the publication inaccurately suggested that the former Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye, was removed by the Commissioner of Police, creating a misleading impression.

Abdulraheem clarified that the redeployment of CSP Jejeloye to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) was not a punitive measure but rather a strategic decision to enhance the safety and security services provided to the residents of Lagos State.

He highlighted Jejeloye’s unwavering dedication and competence in his previous role, emphasizing that the redeployment signifies an opportunity for him to continue his commitment to serving the community effectively.

According to the statement, the publication created a “questionable impression” of the Commissioner of Police removing CSP Jejeloye as suggestive and quoted out of context.

“The publication which creates a questionable impression that CSP Jejeloye was removed by the Commissioner of Police seemed suggestive and quoted out of context as originally presented by the Director Public Affairs of the Agency,” Abdulraheem said in the statement.

Furthermore, the Director urged the public to disregard any insinuations of malice from The Guild’s publication and emphasized the importance of accurate and balanced reporting to prevent the dissemination of misleading information. The statement concludes by reiterating the Taskforce’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare and security of the public, with the redeployment seen as a positive step toward achieving this goal.
