Trump Hails Greek-Born Nigerian Basketball Star, Antetokounmpo, as ‘Good Player

Former US President Donald Trump has lauded Giannis Antetokounmpo, a Greek-born Nigerian professional basketball player and member of the Greece national team, for his remarkable performance with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Antetokounmpo’s NBA performance with the Bucks has earned him many admirers, including Trump, who is running for re-election in the United States.

According to Greekreporter, Trump lauded the Milwaukee Bucks’ star and former NBA MVP at a Republican Party campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday, July 24.

During the rally, the 45th U.S. president recalled the aesthetics of the Milwaukee stadium where the Republican National Convention was held last week.

“The stadium was beautiful. Milwaukee was beautiful,” Trump said.

“You know ‘The Greek,’ right? ‘The Greek.’”

“Milwaukee was great,” he continued. “They did a great job. The stadium is new. They built it for the basketball team, which is excellent. You know ‘The Greek,’ right? ‘The Greek.’”

Trump was referring to Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is currently with the Greek national basketball team at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“He’s a good player,” Trump added.
