DSS Arrests Tailors Suspected To Be Mass-Producing Russian Flag In Kano
The Department of State Services (DSS) says it has arrested some tailors suspected to be mass-producing the Russian flag in Kano State.
The DSS added that some of the sponsors had also been taken into custody in a statement on Monday.
The DSS said on its X account that it “can confirm that Adaramoye Michael (aka Michael Lenin) is not in its custody.”
In the interim, the Kano State tailors who were producing the Russian flags that were being given out in the region have been detained by the Service. They have also chosen a few of their sponsors. An inquiry is still underway.
The move came in the wake of some #EndBadGovernance protesters carrying Russian flags in several northern states. It is unclear why the demonstrations are holding onto the flags.
A few people were previously detained by police in Nasarawa State on suspicion of mass-producing the flags.
Protesting by sprinting through the streets, the demonstrators were seen waving the flag and screaming songs in Hausa.
