NiMet forecasts three-day thunderstorms, rains from Monday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted rainy and thundery weather conditions across Nigeria from Monday to Wednesday. The weather outlook, released in Abuja, details expected weather patterns for various regions over the next few days.

For Monday, NiMet anticipates isolated thunderstorms in the northern states of Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba during the morning hours. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger, Benue, Kogi, and Kwara States are expected to experience intermittent rains in the morning.

In the afternoon and evening, localized rains are predicted for the FCT, Plateau, Niger, and Nasarawa states. Additionally, isolated rains are expected over Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Imo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Cross River states in the morning.

Later in the day, localized rains are anticipated in Abia, Ebonyi, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, Ogun, Cross River, Rivers, Bayelsa, and Edo States.

On Tuesday, NiMet forecasts isolated thunderstorms over Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba States in the morning. This will be followed by thunderstorms in Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Yobe, Zamfara, Sokoto, Borno, Taraba, Kebbi, Kano, and Jigawa States later in the day.

The morning will see rains over Benue, Kogi, the FCT, and Nasarawa states, with isolated rains expected in the FCT, Plateau, Benue, Kwara, and Nasarawa states later in the day. The southern region will experience intermittent rains in the morning, with the entire region expected to see such conditions later in the day.

For Wednesday, thunderstorms are forecasted for Kebbi, Bauchi, Sokoto, Borno, and Katsina states in the morning. Isolated thunderstorms will follow in Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Adamawa, Kano, and Taraba states in the afternoon and evening. Morning rains are expected over the FCT and Niger States, with isolated thunderstorms and rains anticipated in Nasarawa, Plateau, and Niger states later in the day.

The southern region will see cloudy skies in the morning with moderate rains over Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, Imo, Edo, Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Cross River States later in the day.
