Tinubu Appoints Amachree As Director Of Energy Security

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

The announcement was made by Zakari Mijinyawa, Head of Strategic Communications at ONSA.

This appointment reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring a stable, sustainable, and secure energy supply for Nigeria. The statement underscored that the role of Director of Energy Security is integral to addressing energy security and supply chain issues in the country.

“In his new role, Amachree will oversee key national energy security initiatives aimed at enhancing energy security and strengthening community involvement in protecting Nigeria’s energy resources. This is crucial for supporting both short-term and long-term energy sustainability,” the statement said.

Amachree will collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including government ministries, security agencies, energy sector regulators, international partners, and community leaders, to tackle Nigeria’s energy challenges. His background includes degrees in Management and an education at the Lagos Business School, positioning him well for this important role.

The newly established Energy Security Directorate within ONSA will be responsible for coordinating policies, protecting critical infrastructure, managing data, providing security coordination, offering risk advisory services, and building strategic alliances in the energy sector.

The National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu extended his congratulations to Amachree on his appointment.
