Edo Gov Poll: Makinde Declares Support For Ighodalo

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has publicly declared his support for Asue Ighodalo, the governorship candidate for the Edo Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ighodala made the declaration during the groundbreaking ceremony for the upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan.

At the event, Makinde urged all PDP members to unite behind Ighodalo as they approach Saturday’s governorship election. “There has been speculation about my absence at the campaign grand finale, but let me clarify: Seyi Makinde is 100 percent with our candidate in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo. If the people of Edo want to understand the difference between delicious and nutritious, they should vote for Asue Ighodalo,” he stated.

The governor also expressed his full support for the PDP’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, amid concerns regarding his leadership. Makinde called on party stakeholders to collaborate with Damagum for the party’s success.

“I am pleased that our acting national chairman and members of his National Working Committee (NWC) are here. I learned there is another meeting in Bauchi involving some NWC members. I want to be clear: we are 100 percent in support of the Iliya Damagum-led NWC. Whatever decisions you make, we will back you to reposition our party,” Makinde affirmed.

He emphasized the importance of unity within the party as they face the upcoming election. “This is not the right time for internal disputes. We have an important election on Saturday, and we should all rally together to support our candidate,” he added.
