Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Asue Ighodalo has cast his ballot at Idionrio primary school, Ward 1 Unit 3 in Ewohimi, Esan SouthEast LGA.
He cast his vote at about alongside his wife, Mrs Ifeyinwa Ighodalo.
Addressing journalists, Ighodalo said he was confident of victory if the election was not rigged.
The voting at this polling unit commenced around 11:45 AM due to lateness on the part of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
While INEC officials were reported to have lagged in arriving at the voting unit, voters arrived as early as 7 AM.
Security operatives, as well as newsmen, were also sighted loitering in wait for the INEC officials.
The gubernatorial elections in Edo State are holding today, with over 2.2 million permanent voter cards collected.
