In a significant development, students and staff members of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State have regained their freedom after enduring seven months in captivity. Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama confirmed their release in a report via X on Monday.
The victims were abducted during a bandit attack in the Gusau area back in February.
While the details surrounding their release remain vague particularly whether a ransom was paid, Makama highlighted the crucial involvement of security forces in securing their freedom.
According to Makama, “After spending an extended period in captivity, it has been confirmed that all the abducted individuals have returned in good health.”
