President Tinubu Signals Upcoming Cabinet Reshuffle Amid Calls for Increased Public Engagement

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his intention to reshuffle his cabinet, as confirmed the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga.

Speaking to State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Onanuga noted that the current administration has achieved significant milestones in its economic transformation efforts, although many citizens remain unaware of these developments.

Onanuga highlighted the President’s directive for ministers to enhance public communication regarding their respective ministries’ activities. He stated, “I don’t have any timeline. The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet and will do it. I don’t know whether he wants to do it before October 1, but he will surely do it.”

Further elaborating on the rationale behind Tinubu’s decision, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Strategy Engagement and Communications O’tega Ogra indicated that the move is informed by empirical evidence.

Ogra pointed out that during a retreat held shortly after the ministers’ inauguration in August 2023, Tinubu emphasized the importance of periodic performance reviews, which will guide his cabinet reshuffle.
