Oshoala scores fifth away goal in Bay FC win

In the National Women’s Soccer League, Asisat Oshoala has demonstrated her contagious road strength once again. On Sunday, she scored her fifth goal away for Bay FC in their 1-0 victory over Seattle Reign FC.

With just four games left in the NWSL regular season, Bay holds off a late surge from the home team to win 1-0 at Lumen Field thanks to a brilliant penalty kick from the Nigerian striker. This puts Bay in the eighth and final playoff slot.

The 29-year-old former FC Barcelona striker has been prolific on the road and has scored in each of Bay FC’s last two road matches, netting three goals in her last four games for Bay FC, who registered their ninth win overall and fifth on the road the season.

The win left them with 28 points and in the eighth spot alongside Portland Thorns FC, also on 28 points, but Portland hold the edge for the seventh spot due to goal differential.
