Europa League: Galatasaray Boss Rues Osimhen’s Absence in Draw at Rigas FS

During the team’s 2-2 draw with Rigas FS in the UEFA Europa League, Okan Buruk, the manager of Galatasaray, spoke about Victor Osimhen’s absence.

To give their hosts a shot at the prize money, the Turkish Super Lig champions gave up a two-goal lead.

Osimhen missed the encounter due to muscle injury.

The 25-year-old was substituted after the break in Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa last weekend.

“Of course, we can have shortcomings here. Victor Osimhen was not there because he was injured. With him, you can find more solutions in such matches,” Buruk told the club’s official website

“We saw that Icardi also moved around more and played more comfortably; but of course, I had higher expectations from the players who entered later in the game. Unfortunately, we could not do this. We had to produce more.

“No matter how much the opponent closed down, no matter how close he played to his own goal, we had to produce more.

A team with such special players had to find the winning goal somehow. After 2-2, we had a few chances here; but having the ball in our hands didn’t help us much here.”
