Speaking in an interview with comedian and actor Broda Shaggi during the launch of his new Puma collection, Davido opened up about his fashion style, his hit album, and what fans can expect next from his music.
When asked about his fashion choices, the Grammy-nominated artist explained that his style is heavily influenced by urban fashion but varies depending on the occasion. “They say I like to dress like a rapper because I love urban fashion. I love wearing T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers to look comfortable,” Davido said with a smile. He added, “You will find me in a suit when it’s time to collect money. Sometimes, I also wear Agbada,” highlighting his versatility in dressing for different events.
Turning to music, Davido didn’t hesitate to crown *Timeless*, his record-breaking fourth album, as his best project so far. Released on March 31, 2023, *Timeless* shattered streaming records on platforms like Spotify Nigeria, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube. The album’s massive success earned it a Grammy nomination for *Best Global Album*, and it produced chart-topping singles such as *Unavailable* featuring Musa Keys, which received a Grammy nod for *Best African Song Performance*, and *Feel*, nominated for *Best Global Song Performance*.
Despite the widespread success of *Timeless*, Davido teased that his next album will surpass it. This echoes a statement he made earlier in the year during a live stream with American content creator Kai Cenat, where he expressed excitement about raising the bar with his upcoming work.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer, as Davido hinted that his next album will kick off with a collaboration featuring Jamaican artist YG Marley. This collaboration has been highly anticipated, with many eager to see how Davido continues to evolve musically and push boundaries on the global stage.
