Afrobeats sensation Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, known as Ayra Starr, has revealed the reasons behind her single status, citing her exceptionally high standards for dating. The 22-year-old artist expressed her gratitude for not having dated before her rise to stardom, stating that it has helped her avoid distractions.
In a candid interview with Coco Jones for Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians issue, Starr shared, “I’m so happy I wasn’t really dating before I started music. I didn’t really know what I was missing. Now that I waited this long to date people, I have very high standards. If it’s gonna be hard to meet it, it’s gonna be bye-bye.”
Starr also highlighted her busy schedule, noting, “I don’t have time for myself, talk less of a boy.”
Her commitment to her career seems to take precedence, leaving little room for romance in her life.
