Trump praises ‘super genius’ Elon Musk in victory speech
Donald Trump took the stage in West Palm Beach, Florida, rallying his supporters and praising tech billionaire Elon Musk as a rising force in American politics.
He further described Musk as “a character, he’s a special guy, he’s a super genius. We have to protect our geniuses; we don’t have that many of them”.
Trump commended the Tesla CEO for his support throughout the campaign, noting Musk’s active campaigning in Pennsylvania, a pivotal swing state.
Musk, the world’s wealthiest man, invested over $130 million into Trump’s campaign and other Republican causes, bolstering the party’s performance in critical races.
The billionaire pledged that his super PAC, America PAC, would remain active after the election, continuing to support conservative candidates and initiatives.
Early Wednesday morning, major networks projected Trump as the victor in Pennsylvania, securing the state’s significant electoral votes and edging Vice President Kamala Harris out of a viable path to the presidency.
The result has placed Trump on the cusp of an historic return to office, marking what some are calling a political comeback of unprecedented proportions.
Senator JD Vance, Trump’s vice-presidential pick, echoed this sentiment, describing the outcome as “the greatest political comeback in American history.”
