MC Oluomo Sworn in as National President of NURTW at Abuja Ceremony

Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has officially assumed the role of National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) following a swearing-in ceremony at the union’s national secretariat in Abuja. His appointment came after a consensus decision reached at the NURTW’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference, held at the union’s Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State.

The position, zoned to the Southwest, was filled with participation from representatives of four states: Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti, and Ondo. MC Oluomo, well-known for his influential role in Lagos state transportation, was greeted by a large crowd singing and celebrating as he arrived at the Abuja secretariat.

During the ceremony, Akinsanya was introduced to members of the National Administrative Council (NAC) and the Central Working Committee (CWC), where he took his oath as the union’s National President. Alongside him, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede was sworn in as Vice President of the Southwest, while Akeem Adeosun assumed the position of Trustee.

In his speech, Akinsanya expressed gratitude to the NURTW leadership and members for their support, acknowledging everyone who contributed to his emergence as President and pledging to uphold the union’s goals and interests.
