APC Chieftains Gather in Akure for Governorship Election Rally

Key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have arrived in Akure, the Ondo State capital, ahead of the highly anticipated governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

Prominent figures, including Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, and former Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, are in attendance for the party’s grand campaign finale.

Sanwo-Olu’s media aide Gboyega Akosile announced the arrival of these APC chieftains via a post on X, highlighting their participation in the mega rally in support of the party’s candidate, incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Akosile wrote, “Flash: Governors @jidesanwoolu, @DapoAbiodunCON, @biodunaoyebanji, and @phillips Shuaibu, alongside Lagos GAC members and leaders of @OfficialAPCNg, storm Akure for the party’s and Governor @LuckyAiyedatiwa’s mega rally ahead of Saturday’s Governorship election.”

Governor Aiyedatiwa, who took office following the death of his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, will be contesting to retain his position against several other candidates in the upcoming election.

In a related development, Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has issued a warning against electoral malpractice during the election. He emphasized that the PDP will take a strong stance against any attempts to undermine the integrity of the electoral process on Saturday.
