CAFWCL: TP Mazembe Boss Lauds Hard-Fought Win Over Edo Queens

Lamia Boumedhi, TP Mazembe’s head coach, praised his team’s fighting spirit in their hard-fought win over Edo Queens.

The Congolese trailed 1-0 in the last minutes of their CAF Women’s Champions League semi-final match in 2024.

They did, however, equalise in the 90th minute and then scored again in extra time.

“I am very happy and satisfied with this final result,” Boumedhi told reporters.

The gaffer said his side showed remarkable resilience to beat their opponent.

” I take this opportunity to congratulate my players who played a great match. They poured their hearts out and played with grit.

“Our secret for this match was mental strength. Before this match, I told my players to stay focused until the referee’s final whistle even if we conceded a goal.

“We knew we were facing a good team and we would have to stay focused until the end of the match.”

TP Mazembe will face hosts AS FAR of Morocco in the final of the competition.
