Nigeria forward Victor Boniface is a major doubt for Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen clash with Heidenheim this weekend.
Boniface reportedly sustained a thigh injury in Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday six encounter against Rwanda in Uyo on Monday.
The 23-year-old started the game and was replaced by Umar Sadiq in the closing stages.
The striker failed to trained with his teammates on Thursday as they prepare for the clash with Heidenheim.
The former Bodo & Glint star missed a large charge of last campaign with an adductor injury.
It remain to be seen if he will embark on another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
He has scored eight goals in 15 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself this season
