Boniface Rules Out January Move To Man United

Manchester United have reportedly suffered a transfer blow after Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface ruled out a move to the club ahead of the January transfer window.

Following a dismal start to the 2024-25 Premier League season, the Red Devils fired Erik ten Hag and hired Ruben Amorim earlier this month.

United are now 12th in the Premier League standings following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town, Amorim’s first game as Red Devils manager.

This season, the Manchester club have experienced difficulty in scoring goals in the English top-flight. Only Everton, Southampton, and Crystal Palace have scored less than the Red Devils.

Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have each scored once this season, while Marcus Rashford scored his second goal of the campaign at Portman Road over the weekend.

Going with this, United have been linked with different strikers, one of them being Boniface, who is currently plying his trade at Leverkusen.

The Nigeria international has scored 20 Bundesliga goals in 33 appearances since joining the German outfit in 2023 from Belgian side Union SG.

According to sources in Spain as reported by Football 365, Boniface’s possible transfer to Old Trafford has fallen through. Adding that Man United have been dealt a heavy blow in the winter transfer market.

The 23-year-old’s rejection presents a setback to the plans of the Premier League giants, who considered him as a solution to bolster their attack for the remainder of the season and beyond.

The report added that the former Bodo/Glimt forward has decided to rule out the idea of joining United in the next transfer window.

Boniface has featured in 15 matches across all competitions this season scoring eight goals and providing an assist as Xabi Alonso’s side look to successfully defend their Bundesliga title this campaign.
