The Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) has not yet begun bulk sales or opened its purchase portal, as key processes are still being finalized.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has stated that an official announcement will be made if and when any price changes occur for the products.
In a statement on Friday, Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., clarified that the petroleum products currently being sold originate from the Dangote Refinery.
The Dangote Refinery, with a capacity of 60,000 barrels per day (bpd), started the truck-out of petroleum products in Port Harcourt on Tuesday following its rehabilitation.
Some petroleum marketers and members of the public have raised concerns about the refinery’s operations, particularly regarding pricing. The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) also confirmed that the PHRC had not yet issued new pricing for product purchases.
The association stated that they are still purchasing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) based on the previous pricing structure while awaiting the release of updated prices.
