NAHCON Refunds ₦301.56m to Kebbi Pilgrims

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has refunded over ₦301.56 million to the 4,936 pilgrims from Kebbi State who participated in the 2023 Hajj. Each pilgrim will receive a refund of ₦61,080.

The Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Faruku Enabo, made this announcement during a meeting to discuss the refunds.

He explained that the funds had already been deposited into the account of the agency, and the distribution process to the beneficiaries would begin soon.

The refund is part of NAHCON’s efforts to compensate pilgrims for services that were not provided during the 2023 Hajj. Enabo added, “Upon receiving the funds from NAHCON, I informed the governor, who directed me to initiate the refund process. The chairmen of the 21 local government areas will serve as witnesses and help confirm the process.”

Enabo also urged the local council chairmen to monitor the refund process to ensure all affected pilgrims receive their money. He assured that the exercise would be supervised by security agencies to ensure transparency and accountability.
