Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has reshuffled his cabinet, appointing a new commissioner and assigning them a portfolio during a meeting of the State Executive Council on Monday.
The governor, who chaired the session, swore in the new commissioner as part of the reshuffle, which also included adjustments to the portfolios of existing commissioners.
A statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, confirmed that the changes were part of a minor cabinet reshuffle.
The appointment of the new commissioner follows the resignation of Mannir Haidara, who vacated his position after being elected as Chairman of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
Governor Lawal, during the swearing-in ceremony, highlighted that the selection of Kaura for the new role was based on his demonstrated competence and his dedicated service to both his community and the state as a whole.
