VP Shettima Presides Over Last National Economic Council Meeting

Vice President Kashim Shettima is presiding over the 146th meeting of the National Economic Council at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting, which started at 11:02 GMT, is taking place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Those attending the meeting include Ministers of Finance, Wale Edun, Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu and Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari.

The Governors of Kogi, Usman Ododo; Bauchi, Bala Mohammed; Ogun, Dapo Abiodun; Kwara, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq; Kaduna, Uba Sani; Jigawa, Umar Namadi and Abia, Alex Oti.

Others include Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang and those of Ekiti, Abiodun Oyebanji and Edo, Monday Okpebholo, among others.

The Council statutorily meets every month to review the performance of the economy as well as consider measures that need to be taken in order to boost the economy.

The council also plays the role of advising the president on how to make life better for citizens.
