Angolan footballer continues game after learning of brother’s death

Midfielder Antonio Muanza of Angolan and Adana Demirspor played the entire ninety minutes of a football game on Monday, even though he was informed of his brother’s death after halftime.

In a statement obtained from ESPN Africa X handle on Thursday, Muanza chose to complete the game helping his team secure their first Super Lig win of the season.

At the end of the game, his teammate Semih Güler rallied fans and players to chant and console him.

Muanza also known as maestro learned of the grave mourning, he still wanted to return to the field and contribute to his team which thus brought home a great result, despite the fact that Adana Demirspor coach Mustafa Dalci had proposed to him to change.
