The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the launch of the Nigeria Police Force Insurance Co. Ltd. A statement released on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Ogunjobi, described the company as a groundbreaking initiative aimed at securing the welfare of police personnel and providing comprehensive insurance services to the public.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on Monday, December 23rd, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The statement highlighted that NPF Insurance Co. Ltd. is committed to offering robust financial protection to police officers, recognizing their critical role in national security and the risks they face daily while safeguarding citizens and maintaining law and order. In addition to serving the needs of police personnel, the company will provide various insurance products to meet the diverse needs of the general public.
The initiative, under the leadership of IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to improving the welfare of its officers and enhancing the country’s security infrastructure. The launch of NPF Insurance Co. Ltd. is a proactive step in ensuring the safety and prosperity of both police officers and the public, who are vital to national security.
The unveiling ceremony will be attended by notable dignitaries, including the Minister of Police Affairs, Sen. Ibrahim Gaidam, who will serve as the Special Guest of Honour. Other guests include Executive Governors from all 36 states, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), among others.
