Osayi-Samuel sparks Palace rumours

There have been rumours that Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel may soon go to England after he was seen in the fans during Arsenal’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahce from QPR in 2017 and has since been a reliable player for the team. But there have been rumours in recent months that he would depart the Turkish powerhouses.

The 26-year-old defender has just six months left on his contract, but he has refused to sign an extension with the former Super Lig champions.

Meanwhile, Osayi-Samuel has been linked with some Premier League clubs in England, with Fulham and Crystal Palace in the mix.

In a new development, according to multiple reports, the Super Eagles star was spotted in the VIP section at Selhurst Park in Crystal Palace’s 5-1 bashing against Arsenal.

This has sparked a lot of talks, as this could signal that the Nigerian could join Crystal Palace soon.

Moreover, Osayi-Samuel has a strong connection to London, and Crystal Palace is a London-based club. Hence, a transfer to Palace could just be on the cards for the Nigerian defender.

It is not the first time that the Nigerian has been linked with move to Crystal Palace. In 2020, Sky Sports reported that Osayi-Samuel during his time at Queens Park Rangers waited for Palace to firm up their interest to sign him given that he could depart for less than £5m as he stalled on signing a new deal at QPR but the move didn’t happen.

However, it is unlikely that he will move during the January transfer window, as Palace would prefer to wait until next summer when they will not have to pay a transfer fee.
