Seven Killed in Gunmen Attack on Tatara Village, Nasarawa State

Seven individuals were killed in a gunmen attack on Tatara village, located in the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, on Saturday night.

The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident to journalists. He explained that police were alerted to the attack through a distress call. In response, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, led a team of officers to the scene, where they discovered the bodies of the seven victims. The police also pursued the attackers, forcing them to abandon nine motorcycles during their escape.

In the wake of the attack, the Commissioner of Police held a meeting with local stakeholders to express condolences to the affected families and to initiate a thorough investigation into the incident.

To enhance security in the area, additional police personnel have been deployed. Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, is also expected to visit the site of the attack.
