The Nasarawa State Police Command has arraigned gospel singer Timilehin Ajayi for the brutal murder of his alleged girlfriend, Salome Adaidu.
Ajayi, 32, is accused of dismembering Adaidu’s body after she visited him at his residence in New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area.
The 24-year-old Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, was killed on January 12, with her remains later discovered as Ajayi attempted to dispose of her head. The suspect was paraded by the police with the machetes and knife used in the crime.
In an exclusive interview, Ajayi admitted to the murder, claiming it was unplanned and driven by jealousy after discovering Adaidu’s alleged infidelity. He stated, “I saw her chats with other guys on the phone, and that’s why I decided.”
Salome’s family, however, denied knowledge of any relationship between her and Ajayi, demanding justice for her death. Her sister, Esther Adaidu, expressed shock, saying, “We don’t know this Timi guy, I demand justice.”
The case has sparked outrage, and the suspect faces serious charges as the investigation continues.
