Anyanwu resumes office as National Secretary

Senator Samuel Anyanwu has officially resumed his role as the National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He arrived at the party’s National Secretariat at Wadata House through the service gate at the back of the building, without any fanfare. After exchanging greetings with a few staff members, Anyanwu proceeded to his office.

This comes just 48 hours after he submitted a petition to security agencies, seeking their intervention to prevent what he described as an attempt by the party’s 12 governors to create disorder by recognizing Hon. Sunday Ude-Okoye as the National Secretary.

The PDP Governors Forum, led by Governor Bala Mohammed, issued a statement after their monthly meeting in Asaba, Delta State, recognizing Ude-Okoye as National Secretary, citing an Appeal Court ruling.

However, Anyanwu, who claims to have a valid stay of execution order, insists that he will remain in office until his appeal is resolved by the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, regular operations continue at the Secretariat, with police officers stationed at their usual posts throughout the complex.
