The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have issued a warning to candidates registering for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) to avoid unauthorized registration centres. The Board cautioned that using these unapproved centres could lead to the invalidation of their registration.
JAMB’s Public Relations Officer in Jigawa State, Mukarram Adamu shared the warning in a statement on Tuesday in Dutse, the state capital. As of the statement, 1,021 candidates in Jigawa had registered for the 2025 UTME and DE, part of the total 201,867 candidates nationwide.
The registration is being conducted at 12 approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the state, Adamu noted. He stressed that these authorized centres were established to ensure a smooth, transparent, and efficient registration process, and to prevent fraud and irregularities.
Adamu assured candidates that JAMB is taking all necessary steps to ensure a seamless registration process. He also indicated that the number of registered candidates nationwide is expected to grow as the registration continues.
The spokesperson urged candidates to report any difficulties or suspicious activities during registration. He emphasized that JAMB is committed to maintaining a high standard of efficiency throughout the exercise.
“Candidates are strongly advised to use only approved centres for their registration. Using unauthorized operators could lead to disqualification,” Adamu warned.
JAMB also called on candidates to remain vigilant and report any malpractice or illegal centres to the appropriate authorities.
