Osimhen suspended for Galatasaray’s Europa League clash at Alkmaar

Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen is set to miss Galatasaray’s first-leg clash against AZ Alkmaar in their Europa League playoff clash.

The Cim-Bom are one of the top contenders for the title this season, however, they failed to clinch automatic qualification for the round of 16 from the league phase.

Hence, they have to go the playoff route, squaring off against the Dutch side for a ticket to the Round of 16. Okan would, however, have to navigate the first leg of the tie without their most prolific player from the group stage.

The Nigerian scored five goals and provided one assist in the league phase; however, he will be unable to assist his team when they travel to AFAS Station to face Alkmaar.

Osimhen is suspended for the match, as he accumulated three yellow cards in the league phase. He saw yellow in each of the last three games he featured in the competition: Ajax, AZ and Dynamo Kyiv.

Meanwhile, Juventus are setting their sights on an ambitious summer transfer window, with reports suggesting that Victor Osimhen is among the club’s dream targets.
