Police Issue Warrant for Singer Portable’s Arrest Over Violent Attack on Officials

The Ogun State Police have issued a wanted notice for controversial singer Habeeb Olalomi, better known as Portable, in connection with a violent assault on government officials who were performing their official duties.

The police announcement, which was made public on Monday evening, was shared by the State Police Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola.

According to the police, the incident took place on February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m. when three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development were conducting an enforcement exercise in the Oke-Osa area of Tigbo Ilu Ota.

The officials – TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi – came across an elderly man identified as Portable’s father at the property, known as Odogwu Bar.

During their interaction, the officials introduced themselves and requested the building’s approved plan. However, Portable’s father informed them that the singer was not present at the time.

Shortly after, Portable arrived on the scene, reportedly armed with a firearm and accompanied by nine other individuals carrying dangerous weapons. He allegedly led a brutal attack on the unarmed government officials, causing them bodily harm.

Despite the assault, the officials managed to escape and immediately reported the incident to the Ota Area Command. The case was then escalated to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

While nine of Portable’s alleged accomplices were apprehended, the singer himself fled the scene and has been evading authorities ever since. According to the police, multiple formal invitations were issued to Portable, urging him to report to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Abeokuta. However, he has disregarded these requests without offering any explanation or legal representation.

As a result of his continued avoidance, the Ogun State Police Command has secured a court order declaring him wanted for his role in the violent assault.

The police are now urging the public to assist in locating Portable, stressing that anyone found aiding or harboring the suspect will face legal consequences.

Authorities have also provided their official communication channels for anyone with relevant information to report, urging prompt action to ensure the singer’s arrest.

This latest development has added fuel to the ongoing controversy surrounding the singer, who has frequently made headlines for his erratic behavior and contentious actions.

The case has garnered significant public attention, with many waiting to see how the authorities will handle the situation moving forward.
