President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his re-election and inauguration for a new term in office, urging him to focus on advancing the well-being of the people of Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
The President, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, encouraged Aiyedatiwa to build on the legacy of his predecessor, the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and work diligently to foster the continued growth of the state.
“Your victory is a reflection of your dedication to governance,” President Tinubu said, praising Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to the progress of Ondo State. He reassured the newly inaugurated governor of his unwavering support, describing himself as a “partner in progress” committed to ushering in a new era of prosperity for the people of Ondo State.
Tinubu emphasized that leadership should always prioritize the welfare of the citizens, contributing to the overall advancement of the nation. He also expressed confidence that Governor Aiyedatiwa would utilize his new mandate to drive positive and lasting change for the people of Ondo State.
“I congratulate you on your successful inauguration today for a new term in office after an outstanding run in the last governorship election in Ondo State. You have a rare privilege to succeed your illustrious predecessor, who worked tirelessly for the growth of the state and the progress of Nigeria. I urge you to work in the best interest of the people of the state and our country as a whole,” President Tinubu said in his message.
In a similar vein, the Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum (SGF) and Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, also extended his heartfelt congratulations to Aiyedatiwa.
Abiodun described the inauguration as the beginning of a “new chapter” for Ondo State and reaffirmed Aiyedatiwa’s determination to transform the state under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He commended the governor’s efforts to revitalize Ondo’s tourism sector, particularly highlighting the potential of Araromi Seaside to attract both local and international investors. “Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated his resolve to unlock the potential of Ondo State and lead it into an era of prosperity,” Abiodun said.
Reflecting on Aiyedatiwa’s previous role as deputy governor to the late Governor Akeredolu, Abiodun noted that the newly inaugurated governor has always shown passion and commitment to the development of Ondo State.
