Arsenal ready to trigger Osimhen’s €75m release clause

Arsenal are reportedly making a bold move to secure the signing of on-loan Napoli forward Victor Osimhen in the upcoming summer transfer window. According to Tuttojuve, the North London club is preparing a bid of around £65m to trigger Osimhen’s release clause, which is set at €75m (£61m). The Nigerian striker has been in exceptional form this season, contributing 27 goals (22 goals and 5 assists) across all competitions, including a brace in Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish League champions Galatasaray, has been a highly sought-after player for some time, attracting attention from top clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Juventus. Despite this, Arsenal are now reportedly looking to fast-track the deal to secure the 26-year-old’s services and beat out the competition. Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has also claimed that Arsenal are actively looking to hijack Manchester United’s move for Osimhen.

The Nigerian forward, who is set to leave Galatasaray at the end of his loan spell with only a year left on his contract with Napoli, is seen as a key target for Arsenal after a series of injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz during the 2024/25 season. Mikel Arteta and the Gunners are keen to sign a reliable and prolific centre-forward to bolster their attacking options, with Osimhen fitting the bill as a dynamic and goal-scoring striker.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Osimhen highlights their intention to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, and securing his services would undoubtedly provide a major boost to their forward line as they aim for more silverware in the coming campaign.
